Hey! My name is Joel. What's yours? 

A somewhat inane story about me.

I'm an animator and illustrator living in lovely Cincinnati, Ohio. 
You're probably thinking, "Oh, is that, like, that city with the weird chili?" 

Yeah.  That's the one.

I'm from Austin, Texas.  In Austin, our elementary schools ended at fifth grade, and then we sailed unencumbered into the blue yonder on catamarans made of dreams. 
That's verbatim how literally every Texan ever says: "Then we went off to middle school."

At Spicewood Elementary, the custom was to ask the graduating fifth graders what they wanted to be when they grew up.
Then they'd list our totally pragmatic responses in the first page of the yearbook as a memento of our very sensible youthful ambitions.  Other kids wrote something smart:
"S.W.A.T. team... guy."  There were, like, four of those.
"Astronaut."
 "The President."

Raise the bar a little, kids.  I chose to reach deeper into my psyche, to probe the sum of my consciousness for my deepest yearnings and aspirations -

"Animator and comic book illustrator." 

That must have been over the yearbook editor's acceptable character limit because they truncated it to, simply, "Artist."

I mean... I'll take it.  And that's the story of me.

I've created and contributed to animation and motion graphics content for LexisNexis, Airstream, $martPath, McGraw-Hill, and American Heritage Girls, among others.
